How to install the statistics client script:

• What do you have to have?
  PeopleSoft Unix application server, wget Unix/Linux command, the application server needs to be able to send data to the datastore server, it doesn't receive anything (firewall considerations for outgoing traffic only).
• What you don't have to have?
  No special software needed for client install. No security information is used.

1. Download the client script
2. Edit the script:
   Change the $Domain variable. This is the PeopleSoft application server domain as you created it with psadmin utility. This is the only required modification.
   Make sure that .profile can be executed and that no prompts are in your .profile (nothing should stop while .profile is executed). You may make a copy of .profile and run this file instead. This is to make sure that your environment for PeopleSoft will be setup correctly.
3. Include the client script in your cron schedule. Execute:
   crontab -e
   0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * /usr/local/client.sh 2>/dev/null
   
   The 2>/dev/null line ensures that you won't get emails from the script. Only error messages will be emailed to the user who runs the script.

1. Visit http://www.dataii.com/peoplesoft/stats/
2. Type in your Domain name as used in the client script and Host name (your server name which runs the client script. Find it by running: uname -n).
